Ro-Football Synopsis

Ro-Football, sometimes called ROBLOX Football, is a form of co-op American football that first emerged on ROBLOX in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The earliest evidence of a true Ro-Football game being played comes in 2008 (link to down later). Despite this however it took many years for the genre to achieve real popularity on website. Most popular niches on ROBLOX at that time spawned from models originally made by ROBLOX itself. Think the swords for war clans (https://roblox.fandom.com/wiki/Sword), the car models for racing games (https://toolbox-models.fandom.com/wiki/Chassis), the brickbattle tools for brickbattle(https://roblox.fandom.com/wiki/Brickbattling), etc.

There was no such equivalent to these for ro-football. All models had to be made from scratch by the players themselves, and they were prohibitively difficult to make. Coding something like the AutoTackle script or later Football models in 2009 would've been nigh impossible for anyone short of one of the top developers on the site or an admin. This is because these tools require advanced math and physics to create. Even today, these checks serve as a challenging barrier of entry for those looking to get into Ro-Football development who do not have existing programming experience.

As a result of this, it took many years for Ro-Football to emerge as a legitimately popular niche in spite of how popular the sport was in the real world. The primary goal of this page is to chronicle the efforts made towards reaching this end over the years, and the eventual culmination of the fruits of their labor.
